  • Important note:

Please read the following cautionary comments before selecting this tour:

  • When lava enters the ocean, the intense heat produces a plume cloud with dangerous and potentially life threatening toxic gases, super heated steam, and hydrochloric acid. Airborne particles are a hazard to your eyes and lungs. Watch for shifting winds that can blow acid mist clouds over you. Leave the area at once.
  • Where lava enters the ocean the coastline is extended. This new surface is unstable and may collapse at any time without warning. Do not approach areas where lava is entering the ocean.
  • Sharp lava cracks and holes, loose rock, and thin crust greatly increase your risk of getting hurt. Falling on lava can result in nasty wounds. Wear sturdy walking shoes. Use sunscreen, wear a hat, and drink plenty of fluids.
  • If inland flows are present, and you use caution, you may have an opportunity to view fresh lava close up. Follow marked routes and your guides instructions. Molten lava is 2000 degrees F, so keep a safe distance and never go into areas where your escape route may be cut off. Do not throw objects into lava as this can cause burns from spattering lava or eye injuries from airborne volcanic glass fragments. BE AWARE, STAY ALERT, AND USE CAUTION AT ALL TIMES, DO NOT TAKE CHANCES.
  • Please Note: The name you enter at the time of booking must be exactly as appears on your photo I.D. Interisland Air Carriers will deny boarding if the passenger name, as shown on valid government-issued I.D. does not match the name on their voucher. This is a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and FAA requirement. Air Carriers proven to be non-compliant are subject to severe penalties; thus there is no flexibility with this policy.A valid government-issued ID (passport for non-US citizens) is required on the day of travel. If a passenger is denied boarding, there will be no refund.

One Day Tour From Oahu To The Big Island Of Hawaii - Volcano Special (Bus/Airplane)

Description

Our Hawaiian volcano adventure begins when you are picked up from your Waikiki hotel for a 40- to 55-minute flight to the Big Island. Relax with complimentary beverage service before you land and are greeted by your friendly, professional driver-guide. Enjoy a luxurious, air-conditioned mini-coach ride past waterfalls and gardens before climbing the road up to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (admission included).

You’ll have one hour at the national park, where you can tour the Jaggar Museum and watch a video filled with volcanic eruptions. Then, you are free to explore on your own and grab lunch (not included in tour price).

Rainbow Falls is the next stop on your Big Island excursion. Only 80 feet high, Rainbow Falls has more water volume that any other waterfall in Hawaii. You’ll spend 20 minutes here, snapping photos and marveling at the scenery.

Then, it’s off to the lush green slopes of Mauna Loa on the Hilo side of the island, where you’ll visit the Orchid Gardens. These gardens arguably produce the most beautiful plants and flowers found anywhere. You’ll have time to explore and compare the variety of flora.

Additional stops include the Mauna Loa Macademia Nut Factory and a Kona Coffee shop.

The tour ends at approximately 5pm, when you’ll make the 30-minute drive back to the airport for the brief flight back to Honolulu. Upon arrival, you’ll be met again by a friendly mini-coach driver, who will take you back to your Waikiki hotel.

Please read the following cautionary comments before selecting this tour:

Health Notice:
The terrain is uneven and rough. We discourage very young children and passengers with breathing problems. There is a possibility of exposure to fumes from the sulphur.

When lava enters the ocean, the intense heat produces a plume cloud with dangerous and potentially life threatening toxic gases, super heated steam and hydrochloric acid. Airborne particles are a hazard to your eyes and lungs. Watch for shifting winds that can blow acid mist clouds over you. Leave the area at once.

Sharp lava cracks and holes, loose rock, and thin crust greatly increase your risk of getting hurt. Falling on lava can result in nasty wounds. Wear sturdy walking shoes. Use sunscreen, wear a hat and drink plenty of fluids.

Please Note:

Air travelers may now carry liquids, gels and aerosols in their carry-on bag when going through security checkpoints. With certain exceptions for prescription and over-the-counter medicines, baby formula/breast milk and other essential liquids, gels and aerosols, the following rules apply to all liquids, gels and aerosols you want to carry through a security checkpoint.

Make Your Trip Better Using 3-1-1
3–1–1 for carry-ons - 3-ounce bottle or less; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; one bag per passenger placed in screening bin.

Consolidate bottles into one quart-sized bag and X-ray separately to speed screening. Be prepared. Each time TSA searches a carry-on it slows down the line. Practicing 3-1-1 will ensure a faster and easier checkpoint experience.

Declare larger liquids. Prescription medications, baby formula and milk are allowed in quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint.
